Basics in Choosing a Video Camera
If you want to capture and store fun memories of your friends and family, you can do so by acquiring a device that allows you to record footage of these moments whilst they are happening. If you are having a hard time selecting the right model, here are some of the features you need to look for:
This is the feature that determines the resolution of the entire video. There are two kinds of counts, namely the gross and effective number. In order to capture fluid movements, you need to be pay attention to the effective number. Numbers from three to five will help you capture clearer movements.
LensesThere are two types, namely plastic and glass. The advantage of the former is that it allows more light. Although either of the two can still give you good results, it is obvious that glass has the better quality. It all boils down to the zoom properties of the lenses, particularly the optical zoom number.
FormatSo far, there are four formats which can be easily uploaded onto computers, namely:
MiniDVThis type of system allows you to record up to 60 minutes of footage. Not to mention, they are easily compatible with desktop editing systems.
DVDVideos are immediately recorded onto mini DVD discs. This can be a little harder to edit since you still have to make sure that the format is compatible with your editing system. The good thing with this is you can easily send copies to your friends and families.
HDDThis requires larger memory space ranging from 30 to 60 gigabytes. The fact that you can easily review, record, or even delete the videos can help you edit faster and easier.
SDBasically the footage is immediately stored on memory cards. These types of cameras are considerably a lot smaller and more compact.
